Thanks for the Party!

IMG_4122_fix

There’s 46 candles on that cake!  They ran out of room and put candles on the sides.  :-)  We had a silly-good time with a Piñata and Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.  We got lots of black-mail photos of folks acting goofy.  Thanks to Penny for getting the house ready and to all the Chamberlains for organizing and bringing great food.  I really appreciated the good company, the LED lights and butterflies, the towels, the stool, the cards and the memory.

If you click on the image, you can see pictures of the LED lights and butterflies and a couple of other shots from the last few days.

Congratulations Josh!

Congratulations are in order for Josh.  He graduated from high school about a month ago.  These are a couple of the pictures I took of him.  We had a little party for him with family coming down from Oklahoma.  We were happy to see the grandkids again.  Pictures of the party and the visit are here.

Snow in Austin

This is a snow flake I grabbed out of the air today while it was snowing in Austin. No really, I did… I couldn’t figure out how to get a video to show up in my photo album, but here it is as a youtube video:

Nothing Says “Thank You” Like Godiva

We had a great weekend taking the grandkids to Incredible Pizza and Games, and as a “Thank You” Hannah and Leon presented us with this decadent surprise.

Christ Giving 2009

IMG_1914_fix IMG_2132_fix
We had Penny’s family come to our house to celebrate Thanksgiving, and since we’re unlikely to make it Oklahoma for Christmas this year we also did a little bit of gift opening. Penny came up with “Christ Giving” as a name for combining these holidays. I didn’t spend as much time taking pictures this time, but we got some nice pictures of the grand-kids. Click on through to see the rest.

October Visit to Oklahoma

IMG_1477_fix IMG_1452_fix
We made a trip to Norman, OK in October and spent a couple of days with the grand-kids while we were there. We had a great time and got a few great pictures. Noah was really hamming it up so I got a lot of him. I was really excited about the shot of him looking in the tube at the playground. If you click on one of these images you’ll see the rest of the photos.

Independence At Last

Josh's Car

It’s been about a month now since Josh got his new car.  It’s a Ford Five Hundred.  Josh thinks it’s great that he doesn’t have to ask for rides anymore.

We’ve Got Company

Rattler

Penny spotted this little guy when we got out of the car yesterday.  He was coiled up in the corner of the garage.  He was pretty small, but it was still a little scary when Penny pointed him out to me and I said “Yep, those look like diamonds”.  His coil was about 2.5 inches across and he was about a foot long.  Josh did the honors of decapitating him and then burying him.  …I wonder where “Mama” is?

Guess Who’s 18?

IMG_1318_fix

Over Labor Day weekend we celebrated BIG for Josh’s 18th birthday with a fun family party. Grandma, Hannah, Noah and Neriah all came in from Oklahoma. Josh’s sweet girlfriend came over with her little ones and we even had a long time Austin friend of Hannah’s stop by and join us. We sang Karaoke, (with grandma even singing Margaritaville!), watched home movies from years gone by and ate all Josh’s favorite home cooked foods. Although Paul was behind his camera the whole time and we failed to get any still shots of him, don’t worry, I have a great video of him singing karaoke!  He was especially entertaining when he sang “Can’t Touch This”  by M C Hammer.  To see more shots of our weekend fun, click on the picture above.

For July 4th, we invited the grand-kids down to stay with us for the weekend.  We loved having them!  After celebrating Hannah’s birthday we headed back to Austin.  We took them to the park.  We took them to see fireworks.  We played in the water.  They rough-housed with their Uncle Josh.  We just had a good ol’ time!  We took lots of pictures too.
